Green Congress, Friday, June 19, 2026

Two people on a podium

REMEDY Research Center and the Clinic for Rheumatology, Research and Outpatient Clinic at Diakonhjemmet Hospital invite you to the free event Green Congress !

📌 The congress will be held at Deichman, Bjørvika.

Here you will find this year's highlights from EULAR!

The lecturers are challenged to comment on what is particularly important for clinical practice and further research in Norway.

The congress lasts from 0900-1530. There is a lunch break from 12-1300.

We hope that as many as possible in the rheumatology community in Norway will take the opportunity to refresh their professional knowledge.

The number of seats at Deichman is limited, and we hope that everyone around the country will follow the Green Congress digitally.

💌 The invitation has been sent by email. Remember that it is "first come, first served" to be able to attend Deichman. Haven't received an invitation, but would like to come? Send an email to This email address is protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. !

There will be both joint and parallel sessions. Detailed program will be announced later.

🕸 On the Green Congress you can stay up to date with current news related to the event.

Here are some of the challenges:

Ahead of the Green Congress, we invite you to participate in environmental challenges that can make a difference - both at work and in your private life. Small changes can have a big effect!

  • Transportation and travel
    • Choose cycling, walking or public transport on a day when you would normally choose a car
    • Choose train or bus instead of plane the next time you go to a course, congress or meeting
  • Reduce unnecessary examinations and tests
    • Optimize "blood test packages" in your department - remove analyses that rarely provide benefit
    • Avoid outpatient check-ups if it is not beneficial for the patient
  • Medicines and consumption
    • Choose simpler drug forms when possible - can oral treatment replace injection?
    • Revise drug orders on the department - consider smaller packages to reduce waste
    • Discontinue medications that no longer have an indication
  • Food and consumption habits
    • Use a reusable cup or thermos at work
    • Have two meat-free days a week - both at home and at work
    • Choose locally sourced and seasonal food
    • Serve or choose plant-based foods in meetings and lunches at work
    • Eat up your leftovers - reduce food waste
  • Energy and resources
    • Turn off lights, screens and equipment that are not in use at work and at home
    • Print less - use digital documents whenever possible
    • Wash clothes for a shorter period of time and at a lower temperature, and wash the stain rather than washing the entire garment if it is not dirty
  • Reuse and waste
    • Repair garments and equipment instead of throwing them away and buying new ones
    • Buy used when you need clothes, furniture or equipment
    • Pick flowers in nature or buy Norwegian-produced flowers
    • Pick up trash you find outside - on your way to the store, the beach or work
  • Digital and office
    • Talk to a colleague about climate and sustainability
    • Delete old emails and tidy up digital files
