REMEDY Foreign scholarship

- For researchers associated with REMEDY who want to spend some time abroad

Purpose

Our researchers are encouraged to spend time abroad in a relevant research group. The purpose of the scheme is to increase the proportion of researchers who take a research stay abroad. International experience is important for a researcher's career and contributes to strengthening Norwegian research by increasing competence and adding new knowledge to the project, developing networks and strengthening opportunities for access to the international research front.

Who can apply

Doctoral fellows, postdoctoral fellows or researchers in ongoing research projects associated with REMEDY, employed in at least 50% of the position from the time of application and throughout the project period. 

Applications can also be made for mobility grants for international researchers who wish to come to the REMEDY center in Norway.

Requirements for applicants

  • The candidate must have at least a 50% position as a doctoral fellow, postdoctoral fellow or researcher in a project associated with REMEDY. 
  • Where the employee has funds from other institutions that offer overseas scholarships, these should be applied for first (e.g. Helse Sør-Öst).
  • The stay abroad must have a duration of at least 4 weeks. The norm is up to 6 months of support, but in exceptional cases support can be given for even longer stays.
    • Candidates who have children under the age of 16 and who choose to complete their stay abroad without children or a spouse/cohabitant can apply for support for several shorter stays. The need for such a flexible solution must be justified in the application.
    • The same candidate can only receive support for the REMEDY Foreign Scholarship for a total duration of up to 12 months. 
  • The deadline for departure is one year after the award of the foreign scholarship.

The rates​​ for foreign scholarships

The foreign grant must be used to cover travel, establishment and additional expenses for research stays abroad. Salary during the stay abroad must be covered by a scholarship or employer. 

  • Single (without family): NOK 22,000 per month
  • With family: NOK 38,000 per month

The project manager's CV must be attached. In addition, the candidate's CV must be attached if the candidate is not the project manager for the ongoing research project.

Each CV must be a maximum of 2 pages and be written in Norwegian or English.

Publication lists

The project manager's publication list must be attached. In addition, the publication list for the candidate must be attached if the candidate is not the project manager for the ongoing research project

Each publication list must consist of relevant publications, and each list must not exceed 3 pages.

Reason for the stay

Attached as a separate document, see point-by-point list below.

The justification can be written in Norwegian or English. It must be at max. 3 pages.
