The Clinical Trial Unit (CTU) organizes research support for academic studies, including self-initiated drug trials and other interventional studies, as well as industrial studies. The unit supports researchers in the planning and implementation of clinical trials.

The unit consists of statisticians, research coordinators, biobank coordinators, research advisors and study nurses as well as a unit manager. The team is composed of experts with varying backgrounds from research, lab and biobank, business and clinic, and contributes broadly with advice and assistance to the various phases of the research projects, including planning, application writing, approvals, implementation and data analysis. The team will ensure that clinical studies associated with REMEDY are conducted in line with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

The unit functions as a link between REMEDY at Diakonhjemmet Hospital and NorTrials, NorCRIN, Inven2 and Regional research support.

The clinical trials unit is responsible for the modern biobank at REMEDY. The unit has a research lab and can provide expertise and advice.
