New study shows that specialized, interdisciplinary rehabilitation strengthens work ability.

The RehabNytte study has followed 17 rehabilitation clinics over seven years. It shows that work ability gradually increases in the year after rehabilitation.
Previous research shows that even small improvements increase the likelihood of work participation.

It also appears that both diagnosis-specific services and occupational rehabilitation provide increased work ability.

The state of health at the start is of great importance, and people with good self-rated health at the start had high work ability one year later.

study is led by PhD fellow Mari Nilsen Skinnes at the Unit for Health Services Research and Innovation (EHI) at Diakonhjemmet Hospital

The researchers are now analyzing how rehabilitation affects actual work participation.
