Meet Dag O. Hess at Green Congress
At a time marked by climate change, loss of biodiversity and increasing environmental challenges, we need voices that manage to convey the complexity of nature's crises with both academic weight and human warmth. Dag O. Hess is one of them.
Professor of Biology
As a professor of biology at the University of Oslo and until recently the Center for the Biogeochemistry in the Anthropocene, he has for decades been a central mediator of knowledge of ecology, evolution and sustainability.
Green Congress
On Friday, June 20, he will give lectures during this year's Green Congress. It sets the tone for the entire event. The congress, organized by the Deacon Home Hospital and the Remedy research center, is free and available digitally to all interested parties.
Humanity at the rocker point
Hess is known for its ability to make complex scientific themes understandable and relevant to a wide audience. His lecture provides insight into how climate and nature are more closely linked than many are aware of, how this is also crucial to global health and safety, what we as both society and individuals can and must do.
In his lecture at the Green Congress, Hesse will be based on his book "The World at the Lookout Point", where he illuminates today's status and potential boundaries or rocker points in nature and climate. He wants to discuss problems with the "green shift", how we can meet these challenges with knowledge, collaboration and sustainable solutions, and not least how positive, social rocking points can help us.
The Green Congress 2025 is a unique opportunity to get professional replenishment and inspiration to meet the environmental challenges of our time. The event is free and can be followed digitally so you can participate wherever you are.
