Remonit Gout has included its first patient

The usefulness study provided good reasons to proceed with the research on the Urika app. Now the randomized controlled study on digital follow -up of gout is underway.

The study will investigate whether digital follow -up is as good as today's follow -up at Diakonhjemmet Hospital. Patients who start uric acid treatment are followed up by a nurse by telephone today.
The digital follow -up consists of the mastery app Urika. A nurse follows the treatment via a digital platform. Communication takes place via a messaging service in the app.
Urika app was developed with user representatives and specialists.
It contains information about gout and treatment in the form of movies and text. Patients can enter reminders for medicines at the desired time. A graph shows the development of the uric acid level over time. The app also features a feature to customize medicine doses and the date of the next blood test.
The Urika app has been thoroughly tested by 21 patients in a applicability study. The patients were satisfied with the app and digital follow -up.
In total, 168 patients should be included in the study. Participants should be recruited among patients referred to the deacon home hospital during a seizure of gout. In order to participate in the study, they must own a smartphone or tablet and understand Norwegian.
