The board of the South-Eastern Regional Health Authority (RHF) has approved the allocation of regional research funds for 2025. The sum is NOK 149 million for a total of 86 research projects. A significant portion of this goes to Diakonhjemmet Hospital and projects in the REMEDY portfolio. In the picture you can see three of them who are happy to receive funds for research, doctoral fellow Camilla Fongen, consultant Birgitte Nellemann and professor Sella Provan.

The allocation also includes strategic funding for non-university hospitals and funding for priority areas. This year, four projects have been awarded in the thematically open call, while three of the projects have received funding in the priority areas category.

– It is gratifying that so many good research projects at the hospital have received funding from South-Eastern Norway Health Service, says Head of Research at Diakonhjemmet Hospital, Espen A. Haavardsholm.

He believes this is an expression of the high level of research activity at the hospital and its good quality.

For many years, the hospital has had the greatest research activity among Norwegian hospitals without university status.

– This award helps us to carry out planned research projects for the best benefit of patients, says Haavardsholm.
