WEBINAR: EULAR's updated recommendations for user participation in research
Marianne Skaar presents the EULAR recommendations for how user stakeholders should be involved in research on rheumatic diseases. The recommendations were updated in 2023.
Marianne Skaar is an advisor in user participation in research at the REMEDY Research Center and the Unit for Health Services Research (EHI). She also leads the REMEDY Patient Council and has extensive experience in promoting collaboration between researchers, patients and healthcare professionals in research projects.
These recommendations have been developed in close collaboration between researchers, patients and healthcare professionals, and they provide a valuable framework for how we can work together in a structured and meaningful way.
The recommendations for user participation in research have now been translated into Norwegian
In the webinar you will learn more about what they entail - and how they can be used in practice.
Why is this important?
User participation strengthens research by ensuring that it is relevant and useful to those who are ultimately affected by it – the patients themselves.
EULAR's recommendations provide a common platform for collaboration across different European countries.
A guide for better and more patient-friendly research
The recommendations are a guide that can be useful for both researchers and user collaborators who want to contribute to better and more patient-friendly research.
This webinar is particularly aimed at healthcare professionals, but researchers, PhD students, user contributors and other interested parties will also benefit greatly from the content.
The goal is for you as a participant to gain a better understanding of how user participation can be integrated into research – and how the new recommendations can help us succeed even better in our collaboration.
