Research support from the Norwegian Rheumatology Association's research fund

Three women
We congratulate three projects at Diakonhjemmet Hospital that have received support from the Norwegian Rheumatology Association 's research fund.

📍Digital follow-up of gout with the Urika app (ReMonit Gout project) :
Researcher Fiona Aanesen (PhD), Unit for Health Services Research and Innovation (EHI), has received the support.

The project will investigate whether the Urika app may be suitable for use in primary health care. The researchers will test whether the app can support the treatment of gout.

📍ARCTIC REWIND extension study – long-term follow-up of patients with well-controlled rheumatoid arthritis

It is researcher and senior consultant Nina Paulshus Sundlisæter who has received the support.
The study looks at how patients with rheumatoid arthritis in remission should be followed up to avoid relapse, joint damage and unnecessary treatment. The researchers are also investigating the risk of cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis to provide better follow-up in the future.

📍Pain sensitization in people with systemic inflammatory joint diseases and hand osteoarthritis
Physiotherapist Elisabeth Mulrooney (PhD) has received the support.

Here, the researchers are investigating how sensitive patients with inflammatory joint diseases and hand osteoarthritis are to pain, compared to people without such conditions. The goal is to understand why some people experience more severe pain, and to lay the foundation for better treatment.

The project group will use data from NOR-PAIN and Nor-Hand , and will also collect data from participants without pain.

If you receive an email requesting to test your pain threshold, the researchers would greatly appreciate your participation.
