New research project on biological medicines:

Cand. Med. Ingrid Egeland Christensen has recently completed her doctorate at the Diakonhjemmet Hospital and the research center REMEDY. The dissertation, Serious infections in patients with inflammatory joint diseases, sheds light on the increased risk of serious infections in patients treated with biological drugs.

Today, all patients with rheumatoid arthritis (arthritis) receive the same dose of biological drugs. The researchers are now investigating whether an individually adapted dose means that more people will get a better effect from the medicines.

A recent study by researchers at Diakonhjemmet Hospital shows that almost half of the physiotherapists in the primary healthcare service who answered the survey use digital health technology (DHT) in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.
